Imagining life without a debit or a credit card even for a few days can be difficult. It is a nightmare when we lose our debit card. Many individuals often keep scouting for the card, while wasting precious time.

As is often suggested, the first thing to be done is to block your card immediately without wasting any time.

A List Of Bank Helpline Numbers To Block Your Debit Card

Call the phone banking number of your bank and block your card. Some banks allow you to apply for the debit card in the same call or one can enquire about the procedure for the same.

Note in order to block your card through phone banking, you must authenticate the transaction providing right answer on date of birth, maiden name etc. Some banks charge for the debit card availed.

As soon as you block the card through the helpline numbers, you can be assured that it would not be misused. You can than proceed to apply for a new debit card, if you need one.

We wish to emphasize once again that it is paramount for you to immediately block your debit card. Also, do not inform all and sundry about the loss.

Of course, it's never going to be easy for someone finding your debit card, to crack your password. However, one cannot take a chance and we have to be careful.
