EPF UAN: 8 Facts Every Employee Must Know
Universal Account Number (UAN) is a unique number allocated to an individual employee by different establishments by its employers.
Having UAN will help all individuals to connect all previous EPF under a single account with the help of UAN. This number will be provided by your employer.
Here are 8 must facts for all UAN holders.
1) Transaction which can be done
UAN EPF members can do following transactions.
- Download Passbook
- Download UAN Card
- List Previous Member IDs
- Enter KYC Details
- Check eligibility for online transfer claim
- Edit personal details
2) Multiple Member Identification Numbers
This will help the member to view details of all previous employment and further enable to check the eligibility for online transfer claim through the options ‘List Previous Member ID' and ‘View Status' from the Menu ‘Previous Member ID'.
3) Can Change mobile number and E mail ID
To edit, go to Profile Menu in the UAN Member Portal and select an option ‘Edit Mobile No' or ‘Edit Email ID' for changing mobile number and Email ID respectively.
4) Upload my KYC document
To upload KYC, go to the ‘Profile' menu and selecting ‘Update KYC Information' in the UAN Member Portal.
The uploaded KYC document by the member has to be digitally approved by the employer. Till then, status of KYC will be shown as ‘Pending'.
5) Documents considered for KYC
Documents are considered for KYC:
- National Population Register (NPR)
- AADHAAR
- Permanent Account Number (PAN)
- Bank Account Number
- Passport
- Driving License
- Election Card
- Ration Card.
6) Job change
In the case of a change in job, you need to simply declare your UAN to your subsequent employers in Form-11 (Declaration Form).
7) Benefits of completing KYC
There are many benefits of completing KYC procedure. Some of the benefits are a Smooth transfer of Service, Smooth withdrawal of PF Amount, Transparency in their accounts. Members who have activated their account would get a monthly SMS intimation of their monthly PF.
8) Wrong personal details in UAN
If the personal details are not correct, employees should submit correct details to its employer along with proof of document.
The employer will certify and submit information to concerned Field Office. The UAN Card is dynamic and shall get updated automatically
