Many transactions need a PAN card and hence, there is a dire need to get a PAN card as quickly as possible.

How long does it take to get a PAN card?

According to the NSDL, which facilitates the entire process and also dispatches the card, it takes as much as 15 days to process the PAN card.

We are not sure, whether this would mean 15 working days. Even if you assume 15-normal days to process, then one can expect the PAN card it to be dispatched after that and receive it another 3 days.

So, we believe all in all it should take about 18-20 days to receive a PAN card in India. Of course for NRIs, it is going to take much longer than that.

How to track the status of your PAN card?

If you have not received your PAN card after the time mentioned above, you can track the status.

Every application has what is called the status track facility. There is also a TIN Call Centre, where you can contact them on 020 - 2721 8080 to enquire about the status of application.

You can also send an SMS an track the status of your PAN card.

Where to get application for PAN card?

There are many TIN facilitation centres and PAN card centres, where you can get the application. Apart from this you can download the same as well from the NSDL website.
