UAN stands for Universal Account Number to be allotted by EPFO. Most of the individuals ignore to correct details in EPF. A problem may arise incase of withdrawal or transfer when the details don't match.
Most of the time details are noticed during transfer of the EPF account or withdraw from the EPF account. Details such as name, father's name or wrong date of joining can be corrected online.
When an individuals joins any company he is required to fill Form 11 which will have all his details such as:
- Date of Birth of employee
- Father's/Husband's name
- Mobile number
- Email ID
- Educational credentials
- Marital status
- Date of joining
Personal details such as Email ID, Mobile number
After login using UAN. Go to Profile Menu in Member Portal and select an option 'Edit Mobile No.' or 'Edit Email ID' for changing mobile number and email id respectively.
How to make changes in EPF?
EPF members can submit a request for correct details such as name, father 's name, date of birth and date of joining in the UAN portal.
- Go to UAN Helpdesk
- Click on Members
- Select Incorrect details option from dropdown
- Enter registered mobile number
- Enter 12 digit UAN number
Once you click submit, you will receive a reference ID for the request you generated. This ID will be helpful for your future reference.
How to update details offline?
Individual EPF members have to request for the same through the employer. Submit your request along with supporting documents. Employer will contact the EPFO office.
