The coins are currently available at all MMTC outlets which are present across India, along with authorised branches of below banks.

Indian Gold Coin is now available at 383 outlets across India now.

Indian Gold Coin is India's first ever sovereign gold with Gold Coin hallmarked by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which stand for the purity certification.

"The creation of a national branded coin, of uniform price and quality has addressed the trust deficit that exists around the buying and selling of gold. It aligns with the "Make in India" priority of the Government", PIB said.

Indian Gold Coin is engraved with National Emblem Ashoka Chakra on one side of the coin and Mahatma Gandhi on the other side.

Indian Gold Coin has other unique features such as 24 Karat 999 fineness purity, high tolerance in both weight and purity, solid packing with strong security and advanced anti-counterfeit features.

The new Gold Coin will aid in recycling of gold through transparent buy-back option being brought by MMTC.
