YEAR EVENTS
1982 - The Company was incorporated on 8th January, under the name Maliram
Makharia Textiles Mills Pvt. Ltd. and was converted into a public limited
company on 23rd March, 1989. The name of the company was changed
to Maliram Makharia Industries Ltd on 26th May, 1989 and subsequently to
EMTEX INDUSTRIES (INDIA) LIMITED (EIL) on 13th August, 1992.

- The Company is presently engaged in processing of textile fabrics both cotton
and synthetics and has installed capacities of 120 lacs MT.p.a for grey synthetic
fabrics.

1983 - The Company commenced commercial operation in January, with facilities to
process 30 lacs mts p.a. of grey cotton fabrics. The project was appraised
and financed by United Western Bank Ltd. Subsequently Company gradually
expanded its processing capacity to 120 lac mtrs and the expansion was financed
again by United Western Bank, Ltd whenever required.

1989 - The Company set up facilities to process 75 lac mts p.a. of grey synthetic fabrics.
This expansion was appraised and financed by ICICI and Vijaya Bank.

- The Company undertakes processing for own trade and on job work basis. The
processed fabrics include, shirting, sarees, dress materials, furnishings, bedsheets
etc.

- The Company has been promoted by the Makharia brothers Shri Shivprakash
Makharia , Shri Pradeep Makharia and Shri Pramod Makharia.

- The promoters hail from business families and have over 25 years of experience
in textile trade and manufacture.

1994 - The Company came out with a public issue of 24,00,000 No. of equity shares of Rs. 10
each at a premium of Rs. 5 per share aggregating to Rs. 3.60 crores.

- During the year, the company had redeemed 1,00,000 - 6% Cumulative Redeemable
Preference Shares of Rs. 10 each.

1995 - The Company established production facilities for manufacture of Sodium Salicylate,
Methyl Salicylate and Benzyl Salicylate during the years which was successfully
completed during the year and commercial production thereof commenced from
March.

- Shri A.G. Pandint & Shri Dilip Piramal, Directors of the Company retire by rotation and
being eligible, offer themselves for re-appointment.

1997 - Shri A. G. Pandit, Director of the Company expired on the 3rd January. The
Board regrets the sad demise of Shri A. G. Pandit and places on record the
appreciation of the services and guidance received from him for over 10 years.

1999 - The Company's textile mechanised division has become one of the leading
process houses in the country as a result of the continued modernisation and
upgradation of production facilities.

2000 - The Company has entered into agreement with NSDL and CSDL for dematerialisation.
