1935 - The Company was originally established in the year as a
partnership concern. In 1947 the Company shifted from Lahore to
Delhi and subsequently in 1950 its constitution was changed to
Public Ltd. Co. The Company started its manufacturing activities
in 1955 at Ghatkopar (Near Mumbai).

1965 - The Company acquired Paper Converters India, an existing unit in

1970 - The Company set up an Extrusion Coating facility at Nagpur.

1991 - The Company entered into a technology tie-up with Dennison
Manufacturing Ltd., U S A. for 'TherimageTechnology' for printing
on plastic & PVC containers.

1992 - The Company has entered into a technical collaboration agreement
with Avery Dennison, USA for manufacture of high quality labels
in India.

1993 - The Company has technical collaboration agreement for transfer of
technology for manufacture of printed Shrink Sleeves was entered
into with Fuji Seal Inc, Japan, world leader in this field.

1994 - The Company has a technical collaboration for manufacture of heat
transfer labels with Avery Dennison USA.

1995 - The Company has launched sophisticated new labelling technologies
with the assistance of foreign technical collaborations.

- The Company has been awarded 3 India Star Awards for excellent
work done in packaging products by Indian Institute of Packaging.

- The Company has also won the internationally prestigious World
Star Award in respect of Metallised Polyethylene Film awarded by
World Packaging Organisation.

1996 - The Company issued on a Rights Basis 10,28,342 partly convertible
debentures (PCD's) of Rs. 100/- each.

1997 - PPL fostered a technology transfer agreement with Avery
Dennision (US) to unveil the sophisticated thermiage technology
in India.

1998 - The Thapar group firm APR Ltd has entered into a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) with packaging major The Paper Products Ltd
(PPL) for the sale of APR's packaging business whose current
turnover is around Rs 15 crore.

1999 - The Company has allotted 63,94,093 shares of Rs. 10/- each at a
premium of Rs. 90/- per share aggregating to Rs. 639.4 million to
Valevefa B.V. a 100% subsidiary of Royal Packaging Industries Van
Leer N. V.

2000 - Crisil has upgraded the rating of Paper Products' Rs. 5.14-crire
debenture programme from 'A+' to 'AA', indicating high safety in
repayment of interest and principal.

- Paper Products Ltd (PPL), a subsidiary of the Finland-based
Huhtamaki Van Leer (HVL).


-Non Executive Chairman Shri Suresh Talwar of the company passes away.

-Elects K C Narang as the Non-Executive Chairman of the company BOD.
