YEAR EVENTS
1965 - The Company was incorporated on 9th December 1965 as a private
limited company and was subsequently converted into a public
limited company on 25th September 1989.

- The Company was promoted by a team of professionals comprising
late Mr Narayan L Shetty, Mr Sadanand A Shetty, Mr Subbaya C
shetty and Mr S Krishnadas Shetty.

1977 - The Rubber Products Pvt Ltd became a medium scale unit,
registered with the DGTD in February and also received a
recognition from the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government
of India for its R & D unit, in October, 1982.

- The Rubber Products Ltd is engaged in the manufacture of various
rubber goods, that cater to the needs of a wide range of
industries. The broad product categories manufactured by the
Company are hose pipes, rubber sheet, moulded rubber items,
extruded rubber products and coated fabrics.

- The company has a subsidiary, namely Rubber Products
International (India) Pvt Ltd (RPIIL). RPIIL is engaged in
export trading in rubber and related goods. RPIIL is also
engaged in the export of goods manufactured by RPL against
orders.

1992 - A new Company under the name and style 'Rubber Products
International (India) Private Limited' was promoted as a
subsidiary for trading export business.

1994 - During the year under review the Company issued 12,00,000 No. of
Equity Shares by way of Bonus Shares in the ratio of 3:1. With
this issue of Bonus Shares, the paid up Equity Share Capital of
the Company increased from Rs. 40 lacs to Rs. 160 lacs.

- The Company has made a public issue of 20,00,000 No. of Equity
Shares of Rs. 10/- each for cash at a premium of Rs. 20/- per
share in April in addition to 4,00,000 Equity Shares reserved,
for Promoters for preferential allotment.

- The aggregate amount so raised would be Rs. 720 lacs representing
Share Capital of Rs. 240 lacs and Share Premium Account of Rs.
480 lacs.

- The company has developed product from hypolon polymer like
silicon and viton.

1995 - During the year under report, as part of expansion and
modernisation programme, the Company has installed some more
items of machinery and equipments.

- As part of expansion programme, the Company proposes to
manufacture flooring sheets in continuous length.

1996 - During the current year, the Company has effected shipments to
Australia.

- The Linatex Division has developed highly abrasion resistant
moulded components for slurry pumps.

1997 - The company has set its sights on buying up rubber plantations
in Kalimantan in Indonesia, having recently abandoned a $40
million joint venture with the Vietnamese military to set up a
30,000-hectare rubber plantation in the country.

Harrisons Malayalam and the Vietnamese military had signed a
memorandum of understanding for a 60 per cent stake in the
joint venture in June.

- The Company has installed one imported Rotocure machine which was
commissioned on 26th September. The production capacity has
increased which will reflect in additional export in the years
ahead.

- On acquiring Rs 25 lakhs shares the 'Cosmos' became subsidiary of
the Company. Cosmos became Public Company under Section 43A of
the Companies Act, 1956.

1998 - The Company has been accredited with ISO 9002 certificate by Det
Norske Veritas - Netherlands during the year.

- The Company is exploring the possibility of diversifying into
activities in related items viz development of Rubber to metal
bonded items etc.

- The Board has also evolved a scheme for the
revival/rehabilitation of sick industrial co-operatives through
share capital participation to the extent of Rs.2 lakhs,
subject to the fulfillment of certain special conditions.

1999 - The Company is emphasizing on expanding export market. The
Company has also developed extrusion capacity to cater to the
Export needs.

- 15,10,020 Shares of Rs. 10/- each allotted as fully paid up Bonus
Shares by capitalisation of General Reserve.

2000 - The Company has decided, subject to necessary approvals, to merge
the subsidiary company, Rubber Products International (India)
Ltd. with the holding company.

2003-Delisting of shares from Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Delhi Stock Exchange


2007

-Rubber Products Ltd has informed that the Company's directorate has changed due to the sad demise of the Chairman Mr. Sadanand A Shetty on February 23, 2007.
