You need an account that has an instant interbank electronic fund transfer facility called Immediate Payment Service or IMPS. You need to register your bank account on KayPay using your Facebook credentials to benefit from the service. The Mobile Money Identifier (MMID), a seven-digit number code given by a bank to its customers who have registered for mobile banking to benefit from the IMPS, must also be provided. Once authorized, after inserting the one-time password sent on your mobile number, you can transfer funds to your Facebook mate. If your buddy is already enrolled under KayPay, the balance will be credited to the account instantly. That being said, your unauthorised friend will have to register the bank account that they want with Kaypay to receive the money. Rs 2,500 can be transferred in a day and Rs 25,000 in a month. No fee for this service will be charged by Kotak Mahindra Bank.   

Procedure to link Aadhaar with Kotak Bank account

According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's latest directive, it is mandatory that the bank account be linked to the Aadhaar Card by 31 March 2021.

After the deadline expires, the bank will disable all such accounts which are not linked with Aadhaar. For its customers, Kotak Mahindra Bank has offered a range of methods to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar and they are:

  • Via online
  • Via Net Banking
  • Via SMS
  • Via Mobile Banking
  • Offline by visiting to the nearest bank branch physically

  • Using your mobile number, date of birth or CRN, verify your identity
  • Authenticate the OTP sent to your registered mobile number
  • Enter your account number and 12-digit Aadhaar number
  • Submit and your Aadhaar will be linked with your account instantly, you will get a confirmation message for the same on your registered mobile number or email id.
