Constitution of the TATA Mutual Fund
On 9 May 1995, Tata Mutual Fund was set up as a trust in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Trust Act, 1882 with Tata Sons Ltd and Tata Investment Corporation Ltd as sponsors and Tata Trustee Company Ltd as Trustee. The Trust Deed was registered under the Indian Registration Act, 1908. On 30 June 1995, the mutual fund was registered with SEBI under the MF/023/95/95 Registration Code.
Tata Sons Ltd and Tata Investment Corporation Ltd are sponsors and Tata Trustee Company Ltd is the Trustee Organization. Tata Asset Management Ltd has been appointed by the Trustee Group as the Asset Management Firm. TSL and TICL made an initial cumulative donation to the creation of TMF by Rs 1 Lac.
Sponsors
Sponsored by the Tata Sons Ltd and Tata Investment Corporation Ltd, Tata Mutual Fund. The sponsors are the Mutual Fund Trust's founders. The sponsors provided the trustee with a total of Rs 1 Lac as the initial contribution to the mutual fund corpus.
Asset Management Company
Tata Asset Management Ltd is a firm incorporated under the companies act 1956 of March 1994 with its registered office at 1903, B Wing Parinee Crescenzo, G Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra East, Mumbai 400 051. TAML was named by the Trustee Vide Management Agreement on 9 May 1995 as the Asset Management Corporation for Tata Mutual Fund.
Facility introduced for the benefit of investors:
- Purchases (lumpsum and SIP)/redemption of units will be available to both existing & new investors.
- Investors will be eligible to purchase /redeem units of the aforesaid schemes. The list of eligible schemes may vary from time to time.
- All trading members of BSE & NSE who are registered with AMFI as Mutual Fund Advisors & registered with BSE & NSE as Participants ("AMFI certified stock exchange brokers") will be eligible to provide this facility to shareholders. In order to facilitate transactions in mutual fund units through the stock exchange infrastructure, BSE has introduced BSE StAR MF Platform & NSE has introduced Mutual Fund Service System (MFSS).
- The eligible AMFI certified stock exchange brokers will be considered as Official Points of Acceptance (OPA) of Tata Mutual Fund according to the SEBI circular No. SEBI/IMD/CIR No/11/78450/06 dated October 11, 2006.
- The units of eligible Schemes are not listed on BSE & NSE & the same cannot be traded on the Stock Exchange like shares. The window applying for purchase/redemption of units on BSE & NSE will be available between 9 a.m. & 3 p.m. or such other timings as may be decided by the Stock Exchanges.
- Investors may subscribe/redeem units in physical or dematerialized form on BSE StAR& NSE MFSS & NMF II system. In case of redemption request received through MFSS/BSE StAR/DP residual units will continue to remain in the Registrar & Transfer Agents records and the residual units will be redeemed only after investor request to redeem.
- As clarified by SEBI vide its circular no. CIR/IMD/DF/10/2010 dated August 18, 2010, the prohibition on transfer of units shall not be applicable to units held in dematerialized mode and thus the units will be transferable openly. However, the limitations on transfer of units o ELSS schemes during the lock in period shall continue to be applicable as per the ELSS guidelines.
- Requests for purchase/redemption of units which are incomplete /invalid may be rejected.
- In case of non-financial requests/ applications such as change of address, change of bank details, etc. investors may contact Investor Service Centres (ISCs) of Tata Mutual Fund if units are held in physical mode & the corresponding Depository Participant(s) if units are held in demat mode.
- Tata mutual fund will provide an account statement for shareholders who buy/redeem their units in the physical mode under this scheme. In case of shareholders who intend to deal in units in depository mode, a demat statement will be sent by Depository Participant showing the credit/debit of units to their account.
- The applicability of NAV will be subject to guidelines issued by SEBI from time to time on Uniform cut-off timings for applicability of NAV of Mutual Fund Scheme(s)/Plan(s).
- Shareholders will be required to participate in this facility in compliance with KYC standards as recommended by BSE/NSE/CDSL/NSDL & Tata Mutual Fund
