Texan fracking company temporarily ceases Arkansas operations

Baker Hughes Pressure Pumping Services, a subsidiary of Houston-based Baker Hughes Inc., has temporarily ceased its fracking services carried out by its Searcy facility in north-central Arkansas. The company provides equipment and expertise for natural gas drillers working the Fayetteville Shale formation in north-central Arkansas. Fracking involves injection of large amounts of liquid and chemicals into a formation to break it up and allow the gas to flow more freely. Baker Hughes Inc. provides services to oil and gas drillers worldwide.
