Market ends on strong note
Mumbai, Feb 15: The benchmark Nifty touched 5500 mark for the first time erasing the streak of losses in last seven consecutive sessions. Indian equity maintained its upwards trend for the third consecutive day. The market was supported by the shares of several firms and sectors, including oil & gas, financial, telecom, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, cement and power companies.

At 4:30 pm, the BSE Sensex was at 18,273.80 up 71.60 points and Nifty was at 5481.00 up 25.00 points.

Market trades with moderate gains; Nifty at 5450 level

 

The benchmark Nifty held 5450 level, supported by the shares of several firms and sectors, including, financial, power and Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group companies. Indian equity were looming around the previous closing values.

 

Among frontliners were Reliance Infrastructure, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IDFC.

At 2:00 pm, the BSE Sensex was at 18,249.43 up 47.23 points and Nifty was at 5,469.30 up 13.30 points.

Sensex on recovery mode; gains 100 points

The Sensex, which witnessed a loss of 100 points at the opening bell, managed to recover those losses by the end of the day. However, the Indian equity benchmarks were observing a day of sloppy trade.

Shares of several financial, power and telecom companies supported the markets. Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors and HUL too were on the buyers' radar.

Meanwhile, the sell-off continued in capital goods, realty, technology and healthcare companies' shares.

ONGC, M&M, SAIL, ITC, Hindalco, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Power were also facing a tough time.

At 12:30 pm, the BSE Sensex was at 18,249.43 up 47.23 points and Nifty was at 5,469.30 up 13.30 points.

Market opens flat; Nifty looming around 5400 level

The benchmark Nifty opened flat with a positive bias. The Nifty was above 5400 level. Reliance Communications, M&M, HDFC, Jaiprakash Associates, Dr Reddy's Labs, ONGC, Infosys, TCS, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications witnessed swift selling.

ACC, Ambuja Cements, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, GAIL, Tata Steel (ahead of numbers), L&T and BHEL were among the frontliners.

At 10:45 am, the BSE Sensex was at 18,089.74 down 112.46 points and Nifty was at 5,419.90 down 36.10 points.
