Nifty closes volatile on flat note
Reliance Power, Tata Power, Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto, who among the top gainers, were at 6.65 percent, 2.73 percent, 2.02 percent and 1.99 percent up respectively.
Larsen, Jaiprakash Asso, BHEL and Suzlon Energy, who among the top losers, were at 3.24 percent, 2.21 percent, 1.93 percent and 1.76 percent down respectively.

Nifty choppy; banks up
At 2:28 pm, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 18,522, up 32 points and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 10 points at 5,546.
Benchmarks were getting support from Infosys, Reliance Industries, HDFC, HDFC Bank, SBI, NTPC, Hero Honda and Maruti Suzuki. Reliance Power and Tata Power were the biggest gainers with 2.5-4 percent gains.
Bajaj Finserv, SBI, L&T, Tata Steel, Hero Honda, Infosys and Reliance Industries were the most active shares on exchanges.

Sensex sails above 18K
At 12:00 pm, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 18,559, up 69 points and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained just 19 points at 5,555.
Tata Power, Hero Honda, HDFC, M&M, Bajaj Auto, Sun Pharma and Reliance Power, who among largecaps, gained 2-3 percent.
However, L&T and Jaiprakash Associates tanked 2 percent each. Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, SAIL and Sesa Goa were down 1-2 percent.

Sensex gains 247 pts in opening trade
Supported by firmer Asian peers, Indian markets was expected to begin on a high note on Friday, Mar 4. The Sensex rose by over 247 points in opening trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on continued buying by funds, driven by a firming global market trend and easing food inflation.
At 9:37 am, the 30-share BSE index rose 0.2 percent to 18,489.76 points. It is up 4.5 percent this week.
Similarly, the broad-based National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index gained 72 points, or 1.13 per cent, to 5,608.20 points.
