Markets end on red note; Nifty at 5375
At 04.15 hrs, BSE Sensex was 17878.81 down 271.06 points and NSE Nifty was 5373.70 down 72.95 points.
The top gainers were Tata Steel up 0.75 percent, Ambuja Cements up 0.53 percent, Ranbaxy Labs up 0.41 percent and Bharati Airtel 0.25 percent.
The top losers were Reliance Infra down 3.89 percent, Mah and Mah down 3.83 percent, Reliance down 3.67 percent and Reliance Power down 3.00 percent.

Market nosedives; Nifty hovers below 5300 level
Trading continues on negative note folowed by the increasing crude prices and Reserve Bank's latest set of rate hikes. The benchmark Nifty was hovering around 5300 level. United Nations Security Council authorizing the imposition of a no-fly zone over Libya made the crude oil price increase upto $2 a barrel.
At 02.40 hrs, BSE Sensex was 17883.79 down 266.08 points and NSE Nifty was 5370.90 down 74.65 points.
The most active in trading were Reliance, SBI, HDFC and Tata Motors.
The top gainers were Bajaj Auto up 1.13 percent, Tata Steel up 0.92 percent, Ranbaxy Labs up 0.81 percent and Maruti Suzuki 0.69 percent.
The top losers were Reliance Infra down 3.80 percent, Reliance down 3.75 percent, Reliance Power down 2.96 percent and HDFC down 2.88 percent.

Market opens on negative note; Nifty below 5500
Markets started trading on red followed by the negative news on index heavyweight Reliance Industries. Mukesh Ambani group company told the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) that production of natural gas and crude oil from its KG-D6 block could drop even further.
At 10.40 hrs, BSE Sensex was 17986.71 down 163.16 points and NSE Nifty was 5404.55 up 40.05 points.
The most active in trading were Reliance, SBI, HDFC and Rel Capital.
The top gainers were SAIL up 2.33 percent, Maruti Suzuki up 1.54 percent, Tata Steel up 0.68 percent and Bajaj Auto 0.68 percent.
The top losers were Reliance down 3.28 percent, BPCL down 1.92 percent, BHEL down 1.89 percent and HDFC down 1.66 percent.
