Hazare's agitation is business opportunity for some
Mumbai, Apr 8: Even as hundreds of Indians across the country have come together to lend support to social activist Anna Hazare''s hunger strike over Lokpal Bill, a few are taking this opportunity to pedal merchandise.

Mahatma Gandhi caps'' and books are being sold at Azad Maidan here where protesters have been gathering for the last four days.

Dnyanesh Battin of Shudh Khadi Bhandar knows little about the agitation, but he is making a good sale.

"For last four days I am coming here to sell Gandhi caps embossed with message ''I am Anna Hazare'' in Marathi, Hindi and English for Rs 10 each. In two hours we sell around 200 caps. After a public figure -- specially film celebrity -- comes here, more people come in to buy. We even sell dhoti and kurti but the sale of caps is far much higher," Battin told PTI here.

A book seller from Gandhi Book Centre - Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal -- sells the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi in various languages - Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati and English.

"In a day we sell about 50 books. Besides Indians, foreigners also buy these books," he said.
