3i Infotech result analysis
On April 25, 2011, 3i Infotech came out with its financial results for the year and the quarter ended March 31, 2011. The company performance was not as encouraging as expected.

For the quarter ending March 2011, the revenues reached Rs 653.46 crore after registering an increase of 3 per cent over the year ago period, when it stood at Rs 632.60 crore. In addition the revenue in Q3"11 stood at Rs. 645.31 crore. For the year ended March 31, 2011, the firm reported revenue of Rs 2,587.48 crore, registering a growth of 4.8 per cent over the previous fiscal.

Profit after Tax (PAT) for the quarter was reported at Rs 63.41 crore, after it witnessed a drop of 1.5 per cent over the previous quarter of the same year. Considering the fiscal, PAT during the year declined by 4.7 per cent to Rs 253.57 crore, as against Rs 265.95 crore in the previous year.

The company stated that its quarterly PAT is not comparable with the PAT in the corresponding period of the previous year due to impact of discontinuing operations of the citizen service centres that were undertaken in that period.

Taking a segment wise look, for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 the company"s revenue from its IT Solutions increased by 23.1 per cent year-on-year, however revenue from Transaction service business decreased by 28.1per cent. A geographic segment analysis revealed that the company"s revenue share from emerging markets stood at 45% as against 37% for the year ago quarter.

On Tuesday at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), stocks of the firm closed trading at Rs 47.35 down by 0.65 points or by 1.35 per cent. The stock saw an intraday high of Rs 48.65 and an intraday low of Rs 46.90.
