Zinc rises due to overseas cues
Yesterday, the prices of zinc for the May contract rose by Re 1, or nearly one per cent to Rs 101.85 per kg, with a business volume of 1,953 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to the steady trend globally and the rise in the demand at the local markets.

The metal for the April contract also inched up by 70 paise, or 0.70% to Rs 100.05 per kg, with an open interest of 2,356 lots at the MCX.

The zinc gained 1.9% to $2,282 a metric tonne at the LME.
