Facebook users cross 25 million mark in India
The number of Facebook users has surpassed the 25-million base mark in India. The popularity of Facebook in India has increased in the recent past, outperforming the social networking sites such as Orkut and Twitter.

The users of Facebook in India comprises of business people, students, public figures and institutions, which includes Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the Delhi Traffic Police and bollywood actor Aamir Khan.

Facebook is also being used for social purposes now, as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is using the website for users to post their problems that require immediate attention on issues such as sanitation and garbage cleaning. It is reported that there are more than 100 million users India.

The figure represents barely 10 per cent of the total Indian population that stands at 1.21 billion, but still India holds third position in the world largest internet users list. Meanwhile, the company reported that it is eyeing to build a strong relationship with the country"s strong network of developers and entrepreneurs.
