CESC reports surge in both topline and bottom-line

CESC reports surge
The Kolkata based CESC Ltd, which is part of the RPG group, has came up with its fourth quarter earnings report for the fiscal 2010-11.

The topline of the company, during the quarter, registered a growth of 11.9 per cent to arrive at Rs 844 crore. Net sales for the same quarter last fiscal were reported at Rs 754 crore. Further, the bottomline increased by 12 per cent to Rs 112 crore as compared to Rs 100 crore in the same quarter last year.

CESC is a fully integrated power utility company with its operation spanning the entire value chain, from mining coal, generating power and distribution of power. The company serves 2.4 million customers within 567 square kilometers of Kolkata and Howrah in West Bengal.

It has a bouquet of thermal power projects to be commissioned within 2013-2017 across the country, having an aggregate capacity of 6120 MW. On April 29, 2011, the shares of the company closed at Rs 308.10, increasing by 1.57 per cent on the BSE.
