Copper down 1.45% on limited spot demand
On 2nd May 2011, at the Multi Commodity Exchange, the prices of Copper for the June month contracts declined by almost 1.45 per cent to reach Rs. 409.85 per kg. The total traded quantity of the commodity stood at 20,247 lots representing Rs. 828.93 crore in value terms.

Similarly, the prices of the commodity for the August month contracts declined by approximately 1.47 per cent to reach Rs. 414.95 per kg. The total traded quantity of the commodity for the August month contract stood at 1,295 lots representing Rs. 53.72 crore in value terms. Limited demand of the metal in the spot market amid weakening global trend was the primary reason behind the decline in the prices.
