Potato up 0.85% on restricted arrivals
On 2nd May 2011, at the Multi Commodity Exchange, the prices of potato for the May month contracts increased by around 0.85 per cent to reach Rs. 606 per kg. The total traded quantity of the commodity stood at 572 lots representing Rs. 10.36 crore in value terms.

Similarly, the prices of potato for June month contracts increased by around 0.57 per cent to reach Rs. 546.90 per kg. The total traded quantity of the commodity for the June month contract stood at 441 lots representing Rs. 7.21 crore in value terms. The increasing demand of the commodity in the spot market amid limited arrivals from the major producing regions of the country was the primary reasons behind the increase in its prices.
