The project incorporates replacement of paper based ration cards by smart card based ration cards across Haryana, and procuring, deploying and commissioning of the requisite IT and smart card infrastructure at all locations. Commencement of the operations would also require provisioning of manpower, training, technical support and establishing a call centre at every location. As a pre-requisite, the company will also have to enrol recipients for UID by capturing their biometric details.
The company will be required to perform operations for a year post the project roll out. In addition the firm would be offered an AMC for a period of five years for the project.
Through this new system, the government hopes to increase transparency and decrease pilferages due to fake accounts.
In related news, the company recently stated that its Board of Directors will consider and approve its audited financial results for the year ended March 31, 2011 in a meeting scheduled to be held on May 9, 2011. They would also recommend final dividend for the FY 2010-11, if any.
At 12:50 P.M IST on Monday, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), stocks of the firm were trading at Rs. 385.40 up by 2.03 per cent or by Rs. 7.65. The stock had seen an intraday high of Rs 394.90 and a low of Rs. 382.50, till then.
