Chana up 1.66% on rising demand from dal mills
On 3rd May 2011, at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited, the prices of chana for the July month contracts increased by around 1.66 per cent to reach Rs. 2,518 per quintal. The total traded quantity of the commodity stood at 22,380 lots representing Rs. 5.64 crore in value terms.

Similarly, the prices of chana for the August month contracts increased by around 1.62 per cent to reach Rs. 2,577 per quintal. The total traded quantity of the commodity for the August month contract stood at 2,510 lots representing Rs. 0.65 crore in value terms. The increase in demand from dal mills was the primary reason behind the increase in the prices of the commodity.
