Delhi Metro gives BEML
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRCL) has awarded Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) an order worth Rs. 925 crore for supplying 136 intermediate metro cars. 

The order execution would start from September 2012 and is proposed to be completed by December 2013. The order comprises of converting the present 4-car train sets of Delhi Metro at its phase-I to 6-car train sets.

In order to enhance the passenger-carrying capacity of existing metro cars, the Research and Development department of BEML will design and develop the intermediate cars. The intermediate cars have undergone extensive technical tests of DMRCL and have emerged out successfully.

BEML has supplied metro to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL). BEML has secured order worth Rs. 1,672.5 crore for supplying 150 metro cars to BMRCL. BEML has constructed broad gauge metro cars, standard gauge metro cars and also build metro cars for the tier-II cities of the country.
