Cardamom down 2.75% on profit booking
On 4th May 2011, at the Multi Commodity Exchange, the prices of cardamom for the June month contracts declined by around 3.07 per cent to reach Rs. 940 per kg.

The total traded quantity of the commodity stood at 588 lots representing Rs 5.58 crore in value terms. Similarly, the prices of cardamom for July month contracts declined by around 2.91 per cent to reach Rs. 950 per kg.

The total traded quantity of the commodity for the July month contract stood at 288 lots representing Rs. 2.76 crore in value terms.

Limited demand of cardamom in the spot market, along with increase in profit booking activity, were the primary reasons behind the declining prices of the commodity.
