GSPC hikes prices of CNG, piped cooking gas

GSPC hikes prices of CNG, piped cooking gas
State-run oil and gas major, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) has increased the prices of its gas output due to decline in natural gas by the Centre from KG-D6 reserves.

Under this approach, GSPC has raised the price of CNG and piped cooking gas supplied to households from Rs. 34.45 per kg and Rs. 14.05 pscm to Rs. 37 per kg and Rs. 16.91 pscm, respectively. Additionally, it has also revised the gas supply rate to industry from Rs. 20.45 per standard cubic meter (pscm) to Rs. 29.10.

A spoke person of GSPC stated, "Due to the escalating gas prices globally, GSPC is constrained to revise the prices upwards. The hike shall come into effect from May 5. The company is not getting any cheaper natural gas from the Centre in spite of repeated requests."
