Mentha Oil down 3.42% on sluggish demand

{image-06-mentha-(oil)commodity.jpg www.goodreturns.in}On 5th May 2011, at the Multi Commodity Exchange, the prices of mentha oil for the May month contracts declined by almost 3.42 per cent to reach Rs. 988.10 per kg.

The total traded quantity of the commodity stood at 262 lots representing Rs. 9.36 crore in value terms.

Similarly, the prices of the commodity for the June month contracts declined by approximately 3.47 per cent to reach Rs. 907.10 per kg.

The total traded quantity of the commodity for the June month contract stood at 246 lots representing Rs. 8.04 crore in value terms.

Limited demand in the spot market, especially from the pharmaceutical industry was the primary reason behind the decline in the prices.
