Zinc down 0.86% on subdued demand
On 5th May 2011, at the Multi Commodity Exchange, the prices of zinc for the May month contracts declined by around 0.86 per cent to reach Rs. 97.55 per kg.

The total traded quantity of the commodity stood at 2,893 lots representing Rs. 28.26 crore in value terms.

Similarly, the prices of zinc for the June month contracts declined by around 0.85 per cent to reach Rs. 98.95 per kg.

The total traded quantity of the commodity for the June month contract stood at 441 lots representing Rs. 4.37 crore in value terms.

Limited demand in the spot market amid weak global cues was the primary reason behind the declining prices of the commodity.
