The two sons got ownership of the companies which they were managing earlier. As such, elder son, Harsh Vardhan Goenka got hold of Ceat, KEC International, Zensar Technologies, RPG Life Sciences and two unlisted companies namely, Raychem RPG and Spencer's Travel Services.
Younger brother Sanjiv was handed over Kolkata's major private sector power distribution company CESC along with Phillips Carbon Black, Saregama, Spencer's Retail, Music World and Noida Power Company.
Mumbai based Law & Kenneth has been handed over the responsibility to create the new design, logo and the subsequent communication campaign for an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore and the brand is expected to be launched in June this year.
However, both the RPG Group and Law & Kenneth declined to make comments on the subject.
Meanwhile, Sanjiv Goenka managed Phillips Carbon Black Ltd is planning to set up a carbon black project in Tamil Nadu with a proposed annual production of 1.5 lakh tones, with an investment of Rs 500 crore.
Sanjiv Goenka stated that the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu had allotted 60 acres in the SIPCOT Industrial park in Thervoy Kandigai near the Ennore port for the project.
