BPCL Kochi plant diesel unit full ops by May 15
State-run refining giant, Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL) is planning to commence full fledge production at its diesel hydrodesulfuristion unit in Kochi with a capacity of 2 million-tonne per year.

BPCL's unit in southern part of the country at 190,000 barrels per day (bpd) was temporarily closed on 25 April, 2011 with the purpose of catalyst regeneration.

A BPCL spokesperson quoted, "It is under start-up and by May 15 it will be on full steam."

Additionally, the company is also operating a 240,000 bpd refinery in Maharashtra and owns a majority stake in a 60,000 bpd refinery in the north eastern part of India.
