According to the sources, the state-run Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL) is planning to start a full scale start-up at its Kochi plant.

The plan that intends to have a start-up of a 2 million-tonne a year diesel hydro-desulfuristion unit is schedule to start by Sunday. BPCL operates a 240,000 bpd refinery in Mumbai.

Besides it, a majority stake in a 60,000 bpd refinery in northeast India is owned by BPCL.

As per source that had a direct knowledge of the refinery operations suggested that southern India plant, which had the unit at 190,000 barrels per day (bpd) was shut for catalyst regeneration on April 25.

The sources further confirmed that, the plan is under start up is scheduled to happen on May 15. The source also assured that the start-up would take place in full steam.
