Gur remains quiet in thin trade
On May 21, 2011, since the prices of gur traded in a narrow range due to the alternate small sessions of trading and settled at the previous levels, dull conditions prevailed in the wholesale jaggery market.

The Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market closed firm due to the lack of any worthwhile moving factors while reduced buying and sufficient stocks holdings also influenced the prices.

The quotations per quintal are Chakku which stood at Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi at Rs 2,950-3,000, Dhayya at Rs 3,100-3,200, and Shakkar stood at Rs 3,100-3,200.

At Muzaffarnagar: Raskat stood at Rs 2,200-2,300, chakku at Rs 2,375-2,625 and Khurpa stood at Rs 2,200-2,250 while at Muradnagar: Pedi stood at Rs 2,600-2,650.
