Tata Global Beverages witness trailing net profits for FY11
For the financial year ended 31st March 2011, the beverage arm of Tata Group namely Tata Global Beverages has registered a net profit of Rs. 180.5 crore, which is around 53 percent lower than the results seen last year"s figure of Rs. 391 crore.

The total income however rose to Rs. 1914 crore in financial year 2011 as against Rs. 1836 crore of 2010. The possible reasons stated by the company for such a sharp fall in net profits is the consolidation of commodity cost and exceptional income, investments in new projects and lower dividend received from interest companies.

Growth in income, although, was caused by higher volume of sales and improved realisation in branded tea operations apart from the growth in company"s operating profit by 6 percent to Rs. 1811.41 crore.
