ONGC to undertake massive recruitment drive
The state run ONGC is soon going to see massive retirements from executive to general staff. There will also huge changes in the top level management as large number of retirements is going to take place by 2013.

Approximately 7,000 people are expected to get retired within these five years apart from the changes in the top level management. The organization is already with managing work and fulfilling targets of completing the designated work related to crude production on time and this huge scale of retirements might make the situation worse.

Thus in order to safeguard itself from last minutes crisis, the company is going to take up a massive recruitment drive. Large number of promotions of the existing employees is also expected to happen.

Manpower comes out to be almost 10% of the company's total costs of exploration and production, the company also wants to achieve a balance between executives and its general staff. The company might recruit 800-900 candidates in the officer grade, while recruitment of general staff is also expected to happen in same ratio.

The recruitment is expected to happen on year on year basis considering the degree of work, attrition rate in the subsequent five years. The company is also increasing onshore and offshore installations and also the demands from its group companies will lead to the requirement of manpower in the organisation. Therefore the recruitments have become a need for the hour for the company.
