Tata BP Solar to complete the project by Dec
A joint venture of Tata Power and BP Tata BP Solar would complete its 5 MW solar EPC project for Kolkata-based Electrical Manufacturing Company at Naini, Uttar Pradesh, by December 2011. The company is also responsible for the operational and maintenance related activities of the plant. The company has to undertake these services for a period of 10 years from the start of the plant.

The plant is so built and designed that it can work for 25 years. The crystalline silicon modules manufactured and distributed by the company are also expected to perform with minimal degradation in the power output for this period of 25 years.

Approximately 24,530 crystalline silicon modules are to be used for an area of 25 acres, which would generate electric current when solar radiation falls on them.

Inverters will convert direct current into alternating current and will be upgraded to 33 KV via transformers, in order to fed it into the electricity grid lines of Discoms under Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation
