ITC quarterly result: net profit increases by 24.52% (yoy)
Standalone results as posted on the Bombay Stock Exchange show the company performed well with a growth of 20.89% in revenue year-on-year (y-o-y) from Rs 4847.34 crore in June 2010 to 5860.18 in June 2011.
Expenses too increased by a similar percentage (20.40%) during the same period on a y-o-y basis.
Meanwhile, other income went up by 46.06% during the June 2011 quarter of the year Rs 144.
Net profit for the company went up by 24.52% y-o-y from Rs 1070.31 crore in June 2010 to Rs 1332.72 crore in June 2011.
Even the company's operationg profit margin and the net profit margin went up by 0.38 and 0.66 respectively.
Segment-wise, the FMCG business, which includes cigarette, foods, personal care and other products, witnessed a revenue growth of 17% to Rs 4,071.32 crore.
While revenue from hotel business stood at Rs 230.46 crore, agri-business division achieved a revenue of Rs 1,701.14 crore.
