Maruti Suzuki's on-going conflict between the management and the workers intensified on late Monday, when court condemned bail appeal of three union leaders arrested a day before.

The state-sponsored labour department on Monday failed to resolve the matter between the management and the Manesar workers and said they would not be involved in this matter any further. With this matter has reached to the labour court.

 

Late Sunday, police arrested three main union leaders - Sonu Gujjar (President), Shiv Kumar (General Secretary) and Ravinder Kumar (Executive Committee Member) of Maruti Suzuki Employees Union for allegedly attacking the group of supervisors on the way to work.

 

On Monday, the officials of Haryana government including labour commissioner Satwanti Ahlawat and labour minister Shiv Charan Lal Sharma had talks with the management and protesting workers, but no negotiation could be reached and then they decided to take the matter to the labour court. following a stalemate again.

The standoff between the management and the workers started on August 29, when the company asked workers to sign a 'good conduct bond'.

In the meantime, the company has asked 350 technician trainees at Manesar plan to resume the production within next three days.
