Sensex above 17,000, Jindal Steel, Wipro, TCS lead
The 30-shares Sensex opened at 16,836 and was seen up by 194 points at 17,078 level while closing bell and the 50-shares Nifty was seen up by 54 points at 5,131 level.
Top gainers on NSE were Jindal Steel, Bharti Airtel, Wipro, TCS and IDFC between the gains of 3.44% - 5.10%.
Biggest losers on NSE were Sesa Goa, Tata Steel, DLF, Coal India and Maruti. They posted loses in between 2.58% - 3.95%.
Of the sectoral indices on BSE, IT, Teck, Oil & Gas, FMCG and Auto topped and posted gains of 0.92% - 2.56%.
The sectors which were seen red on BSE were Realty, Metal, PSU and Consumer Goods.
Looking at the recent inflation numbers, RBI Governor has again raised concerns and said, “Inflation is still out of our comfort zone.” RBI may raise key policy rates once again by 25 basis points in its next policy meet by the end of the month.
