HDFC Bank Q2 net up by 31.5%

HDFC Bank, the country's second largest private sector lender posted 31.5% rise in its second quarterly net profits. It's net profit after tax rose to Rs 1,199 crore over the corresponding period previous year.
The bank's profit stood at Rs 912 crore in the corresponding period previous year.
The net revenues of the bank rose to Rs 4,156.2 crore against Rs 3,487 crore corresponding period previous year.
The net interest income showed a 17% rise to Rs 2,944 crore.
The bank's total balance sheet size increased to Rs 3,15,746 crore as of September 30 2011.
Gross advances grew by 25.6% YoY to Rs 1,89,917 crore.
Gross retail loans of the bank rose by 34.2% over previous year quarter to Rs 92,878 crore.
Total deposits stood at Rs 2,30,676 crore.
The bank's total Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) as per the Basel II guidelines was at 16.5% as against a regulatory minimum of 9%. Tier I CAR was at 11.4% as of September 30 2011.
