Rupee futures rises against euro

The Indian rupee rose against euro on Thursday as euro declined since Greece faced European ire at a Group of 20 meeting over its decision to hold a referendum on its eurozone rescue deal. Rupee futures for November 2011 contract fell as much as 0.26 paise at Rs. 67.8650 per euro on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 12.10pm.

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), EURUSD future for December 2011 contract traded at US$1.3691 per euro (USD appreciated by 0.47 per cent against EUR) and GBPUSD future for December 2011 contract traded at US$1.5890 per pound (USD appreciated by 0.40 per cent against GBP) at 12.16 PM today.

S&P CNX NIFTY, at NSE, traded at 5,218.90, down by 0.75 per cent, after opening at 5,241.55 against the previous closing of 5,258.45. It touched the intra-day low of 5,211.40 till the trading. (At 12.08 PM today).

At NSE, EURINR for November 2011 contract traded at Rs. 67.8650 per euro, rupee appreciated 0.26 paise against euro, after opening at Rs. 67.9575 against the previous closing price of Rs. 68.1275. Rupee rose to Rs. 68.0225 with a business volume of 9328 lots till the trading (At 12.10 PM today).
