Yesterday, the BSE SENSEX closed at 17118.74 down by 74.08 points or by 0.43 %.The NSE Nifty ended at 5148.35 down by 20.5 points or by 0.4 %. The BSE MIDCAP closed at 6063.75 down by 98.6 points or by 1.6 %, while the BSE SMALL-CAP ended at 6645.49 down by 119.23 points or by 1.76 %. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 17391.99 and intraday low of 17094.43 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 5228.9 and intraday low of 5140.55.
The net FII investment in the Indian markets on November 14th, 2011 stood at Rs 343.90 crore. The net inflows by FIIs were positive on this day.
The gross purchases by the FIIs in the Indian equity markets were of Rs. 3254.00 crore. The gross sales were of Rs. 3041.40 crore. The net investment in the equity markets by FIIs on November 14th, 2011 stood at Rs 212.60.
The gross purchases by the FIIs in the Indian debt markets were of Rs 668.00 crore. The gross sales by FIIs were of Rs 536.70 crore. The net investment by the FIIs in the debt markets stood at Rs 131.30 crore.

Indian time, the Nikkei 225 was down 30.63 points and was at 8573.02. The Hang Seng was down 142.06 points and was at 19359.14. The Taiwan weighted was down 20.02 points and was at 7503.83. The Shanghai composite was down 00.57 points and was at 2528.24.
On Friday, November 14th, 2011 the US markets closed in the red. The Nasdaq closed at 2656.29, losing 21.53 points over the previous day"s closing. Trading volumes were at one of their lowest levels this year. The economic woes of Europe continued to weigh down the US markets.
The Dow Jones Industrial lost 74.70 points and closed at 12078.98. The S & P 500 lost 12.07 points and closed at 1251.78. The New York Stock Exchange composite (NYA) lost 82.88 points and closed at 7493.98.
The European Markets ended in the red yesterday after German Chancellor Angela Merkel described the current economic crisis as the worst crisis since the Second World War. The yields on Italian bonds surged yesterday as the country issued 4 billion Euros worth of 5 year bonds. The DAX lost 72.01 points and closed at 5985.02. The FTSE 100 lost 26.34 points and closed at 5519.04. The ATX was down 10.20 points and closed at 1909.80 .
Gold prices ended lower by 0.5 per cent to settle at $1778.40 per ounce, while silver prices were down 1.9 per cent and closed at $34.02 per ounce. Crude oil lost 0.9 per cent to close at $98.14 per barrel.
