India's food inflation eases to 10.63%

India's food inflation as measured by wholesale price index (WPI) eased to 10.63% for the week ended November 5 on the back of fall in the prices of onion and wheat. It stood at 11.81% for the week ended Oct 29.
The primary articles inflation which holds the weightage of 20.12% stood at 10.39% during the week against 11.43% a previous week.
As per the government data released today, the price of onion and wheat became cheaper 22.89% and 3.63%, respectively.
The price of pulses and vegetables remained high during the week at 14.44% and 27.26%, respectively.
The price of fruits, milk and egg, meat & fish remained strong at 5.99%, 10.74% and 11.73%, respectively.
The non-food articles inflation rose at 5.33%.
The overall inflation for October remained high at 9.73%.
