The Indian rupee rose against euro on Wednesday as euro slipped after Belgian newspaper De Standaard said Belgium and France were in fresh talks over an existing rescue deal for Dexia, stirring worries about the potential for an increased fiscal burden on France. Rupee futures for November 2011 contract rose as much as 0.89 paise at Rs. 70.2625 per euro on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 12.03pm.
At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), EURUSD future for December 2011 contract traded at US$1.3448 per euro (USD appreciated by 0.42 per cent against EUR) and GBPUSD future for December 2011 contract traded at US$1.5604 per pound (USD appreciated by 0.10 per cent against GBP) at 12.08 PM today.
S&P CNX NIFTY, at NSE, traded at 4,714.90, down by 2.02 per cent, after opening at 779.50 against the previous closing of 4,812.35. It touched the intra-day low of 4,714.45 till the trading. (At 12.03 PM today).
At NSE, EURINR for November 2011 contract traded at Rs. 70.2625 per euro, rupee appreciated 0.89 paise against euro, after opening at Rs. 70.9325 against the previous closing price of Rs. 71.1525. Rupee rose to Rs. 70.9325 with a business volume of 22146 lots till the trading (At 12.03 PM today).
