The Indian rupee falls against US dollar on Monday as the dollar gained against other rivals currencies overseas amid increased demand for the American currency from importers. Rupee future for December 2011 contract falls as much as 0.54 paise to Rs. 52.6475 per dollar on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 12.06pm.
At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), EURUSD future for December 2011 contract traded at US$1.3341 per euro (USD appreciated by 0.220 per cent against EUR) and GBPUSD future for December 2011 contract traded at US$1.5627 per pound (USD appreciated by 0.21 per cent against GBP) at 12.10 PM today.
S&P CNX NIFTY, at NSE, was trading at 4,796.60, down by 1.44 per cent, after opening at 4,906.85 against the previous closing of 4,866.70. It touched the intra-day low of 4,796.20 till the trading. (At 12.04 PM today).
At NSE, USDINR for December 2011 contract traded at Rs. 52.6475 per dollar, rupee depreciated by 0.4 paise, after opening at Rs. 52.2000 against the previous closing price of Rs. 52.2475. It fell to Rs. 52.2000 per dollar with a business volume of 905687 lots till the trading. (At 12.06 PM today).
