Sugar plunges on millers selling, weak demand
Mumbai, Dec 16 (PTI) The downfall in sugar prices remained unabated for the third consecutive day at the vashi wholesale market here today due to heavy selling pressure from mills amid subdued stockists demand.

Medium sugar (M-30) slumped by Rs 26/45 per quintal to Rs 3,031/3,156 from Thursday's closing of Rs 3,076/3,182.

Small Sugar (S-30) also slid by Rs 30/34 per quintal to Rs 2,961/3,011 as against Rs 2,991/3,045 previously.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets: Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,031/3,156 (Rs 3,076/3,182. Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,961/3,011 (Rs 2,991/3,045).
