Markets in celebration mood; Sensex ends 551 points up

The 30-share Sensex ended 551 points or 3.63% up at 15,725.71, tracking a positive opening in European markets. Bankex, Capital goods, Oil & Gas, Power were the gleam of the day, all trading higher in the range of 2.59% - 4.46%.
Overall breadth of the market remained strong on Wednesday on the better economic updates from US and Europe. The 50-share NSE Nifty also ended close to 4,700 level at 4,693.15, up by 149 points or 3.28%.
The top gainers on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) were RCom, Sesa Goa, ICICI Bank, Tata Power and Bharti Airtel, all gained by 9.66%, 8.86%, 7.59%, 7.41% and 6.34%.
The only stocks ended low were IDFC (1.63%), HCL Tech (0.59%), Dr Reddy (0.21%) and Sun Pharma (0.20%).
All the Asian markets ended green except China's Shanghai, which ended low at 2,191.09, down by 1.12%.
On the European front, FTSE 100 was seen up by 0.67% at 5,455.03, while CAC 40 added 1.30% to 3,095.85 at 4:25 pm IST.
