100% FDI in single brand by Government
The Foreign Direct Investment in India has remained a hot topic of current time, as the recent statement from Government of India showed that government is planning to introduce 100 per cent FDI soon in single brand retail.

The year 2011 ends with the question that, will 100 per cent FDI come in multi brand retailing in India? However the first month of New Year comes with the affirmation from government that it will bring FDI soon in single brand retailing.

Besides on November 24, Indian Cabinet approved the decision decision to increase FDI in single brand retail.

Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) P K Chaudhery told media about the single brand retailing.

The 100 per cent FDI in single brand retain will open the gates for global chains such as Adidas, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Gucci to operate fully owned retail outlets in country. Presently 51 per cent FDI is permitted in single brand retail.
