Maruti Suzuki Jan sales surge 5.2%
India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) reported a surge of 5.2 per cent in its car sales for January with sale of 1,15,433 units in the month as compared to 1,09,743 in January 2011.

Meanwhile, the export sales were recorded at 14,686 units with a growth of 54.3 per cent, while the domestic sales were recorded at 1, 01,047 units with a slight increase of 0.6 per cent, for the month of January.

The domestic sales for January 2011 stood at 1, 00,422 units.

Besides, the total passenger sales also witnessed a surge of 2.4 per cent at 88,377 units in January from 86,285 units in the same month of 2011, said the company in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

On Wednesday, the shares of the company closed at Rs 1,213 up by 26.20 points or 2.21%.
