Rupee falls against euro on Greeek package

The Indian rupee fell against euro on Tuesday after European finance ministers reached an agreement on a Greek aid package. Rupee futures for February 2012 contract falls as much as 0.39 paise at Rs. 65.2400 per euro on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 12.12 pm.

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), EURUSD future for March 2012 contract traded at US$1.3278 per euro (USD depreciated by 0.29 per cent against EUR) and GBPUSD future for March 2012 contract traded at US$1.5856 per pound (USD depreciated by 0.08 per cent against GBP) at 12.13 PM today.

S&P CNX NIFTY, at NSE, was trading at 5,607.25, up by 0.77 per cent, after opening at 5,561.90 against the previous closing of 5,564.30. It touched the intra-day high of 5,607.95 till the trading. (At 12.10 PM today).

At NSE, EURINR for February 2012 contract traded at Rs. 65.2400 per euro, rupee depreciated 0.39 paise against euro, after opening at Rs. 65.2000 against the previous closing price of Rs. 64.8425. Rupee fell to Rs. 65.1425 with a business volume of 4640 lots till the trading (At 12.12 PM today).
