Reliance Power commissions India's largest solar power plant
Anil Ambani led Reliance Power Ltd said that it has commissioned a 40 megawatt (MW) (AC) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power plant in the village Dhursar in the state of Rajasthan for Rs 700 crore.

The project is the India's largest solar power plant and is aimed at providing clean energy to Mumbai.

The project is targeted to provide 70 million units of clean power and is spread over an area of 350 acres for average consumption of75,000 families and is targeted to get complete in five months.

"Our Dhursar plant demonstrates the huge potential of solar energy to help India meet its growing energy needs in the most environmentally friendly manner.

Reliance Power's vision is to become India's largest green power company and the commissioning of this solar plant is the first major step in that direction," said Reliance Power Chairman Anil D Ambani.
